Charles May!!!!!

You might want to actually try a few out. It'll make it clearer to you than to critique them without having actually used one. (You'll notice I don't actually critique knives I haven't used.)

Moras are cheap enough for you buy several to experiment with. Check out www.ragweedforge.com Get a few of the Erickson and/or Frost's Mora knives. That'll give you a good basis to work with.

You mean like this one? I started to sharpen it once but I think I noticed the grass growing....so I stopped. :D

I'm just a lowly knifehead noob wannabe collector/parttime wannabe knifemaker trying to gain knowlege. Don't worry about me though, the teeth marks and scars on my hiney will heal up just fine.:D

Oh yea, and THE MAY KNIVES ARE COOL!  Thanks for posting them.

Here are two small knives without the Scandi grind from Charles, the clip pt is on it's way to a Forum Friend in Australia I've met & talked with so many fine people via BladeForums !
Charles' leather work is fantastic - pure - function.

Reminds me a bit of my Dozier fixed blades. Nice knife.

Great looking knife Vince! I like those white liners with the green canvas micarta.

Is that a new logo on the blade? I haven't had a new Charles May in a while, and I sold the one I had (d'uhh), and for some reason, I seem to remember a different makers mark before. Of course it could just be my dody ol' brain actin' up again. :)

Thanks guys,it is always nice to see pictures with the knives in hand.If you were looking for a specific model, you can search & see some pics to get an idea. The pictures of knives on knifemakers websites, sometimes, make it not so easy to see wich model may be to your liking.
I have had a few of Charlies knives,I like this model for a nice small hunter/utility

Recently, I had the pleasure of a successful Krein/May swap with our buddy LarryM.

I came away with just a Trace of Scandi, which May put a new edge on my collection. :) ;)

About 7.25" of wicked sharp D2 with Stellar's Sea Cow scales. Although I don't know what a Stellar's Sea Cow is, I know they're not like the Brangus I used to raise. :D

That's a beauty, Ford. Enjoy it. I have it's plainer sister. LOL!

Ford,Awesome.......
Sea Cow is an animal that went extinct a ways back, not sure on the time frame, but I believe they dive for the bones on the bottom of the sea.
Charles told me this , also told me a few of his secrets for getting good stuff. He claims it is hard to say what it is gonna look like before you cut into it.He has some tricks though,I'm sure you can attest to that, after getting that knife...I've handled that one myself, nice, with the black liners....Congrats on your trade...
