howdy folks... it's been a loooong day and i finally have a chance to sit down...
i thought i would share a few pics of my new Charlieridge bushcrafter... after eagerly awaiting it's arrival, i got this knife a few days ago...from the moment i took it out of the package, i was instantly in love... this knife (like so many others) is just my style.. nice and simple...
it sports a 4 in. 1095 blade, 1/8 thick with a mid convex grind.. the handle scales are a gorgeous cocobolo with red liners... it has 2 hollow pins and 2 solid pins...
the knife fits my hands just perfectly.. the handle has a slight curve to them, that adjusts into the palm very comfortably..
like a lot of my other field/bushcraft knives, i have been using this knife in the kitchen, just about everyday since i got it... it seems just at home in the kitchen than it does in the woods.... the the sharp covex grind has helped prepare many meals... i gave it a few swipes on my strop and brought it back to shaving sharp....
one more thing...... i have been getting knives from knifemakers here and there, without sheaths and just making my own.... i know we all hate having a knife floating around without a sheath.. i really hate the cardboard ones...
so i whipped this guy out after my knife arrived... the dimensions of this knife were very similar to my Breeden Tyson bushcraft knife and it fit in the Tyson sheath perfectly.. luckily i still had the template...
here it is with it's twin brother sheath...
i carried this knife all day today at an archery shoot we went to.. (pics to come soon ) it rode nice and snug against my belt....
for any of you folks that aren't familiar with Mark's work, i recommend you drop him a line... he's a great guy to work with... i have a few other knives, all are great users..
cheers... mike
