well, J Williams wasn't the only one to receive a package from mark, of charlieridge knives, today...
over the past few years i have wanted to get into fly fishing, and this last trip to mammoth, really reminded me exactly how much i want to do it... i got to fly fish with a buddy who lives over there during the summer, mammoth has some amazing fishing.. he even taught me how to tie fly's... that was a lot of fun....
well after i got home i decided to sell a few knives, to try and raise some funds to buy some fly fishing gear, which is really expensive...
mark, being an avid fly fisherman/junkie that he is, has a lot of gear, so he helped a poor brother out and we worked out a trade... some knives for some fly fishing gear....
here's a shot of all the loot i scored... many thanks once again mark.. you rock..
- a 2 piece 6 wt rod + reel
- a 4 piece 7 wt rod + reel
- a fly tyeing vice + fly tyeing book
- and a threw in a few fly's and some deer antler tine's..
and of course i had to ask if he had any knives available and he did... i threw in some $$$ with my knives and i scored this beauty... another nice utility style knife... it's got a crazy sharp, 3.5 in. 1095 blade and some of my favorite handle scales, natural/tan canvas micarta... this knife, like all of marks, feels solid in the hand and is very comfortable... mine didn't come with a sheath, marl did however throw in enough leather for me to make my own...
here's another little beauty i scored from mark last week... a little necker, O1 steel and elk scales... also wicked sharp.. i made a little neck sheath for it, i still need to dye it...
and a group shot of all of my charlieridge knives...
thanks mark..... mike
