Ive been carrying and using this since i got it and been using it solely for all my small knife tasks..It is an excellent slicer for food prep etc...My good friend and i took my son up the MOTU to see if he could land his first trout..

The Barlow made easy work on the fish

On our way back we got a few oppossums

The Barlow was more than capable of skinning tasks. The preferred knife for this job is a well worn Mercator..I must say i love the edge geometry and steel quality. All in all much kudos to you Charlie for successfully re-inventing the wheel.A very fine knife and a pleasure to own...

Patina is coming along fine too.

Wow, really puttin' that barlow through the ringer and it's coming through nicely. Very impressive! Great pics and great thread, thanks.

Thanks for the report, Fes! You don't need no stinkin' vinegar!!:D

Nice to know, that when the chips are down, the Barlow can hold its own!!

Decent trout there Fes junior! A fine, healthy meal in the makin'!!

Great looking Barlow and congrats to your son on a beauty of a trout. I bet it was tasty.

Nice looking young lad catching a more than respectable trout using a cool new American made Barlow pattern!. Whats not to like.. Where is this beautiful place pictured though?

:D Great review and pics FES. Your lad looks darn proud of that trout, as well he should be :) What a great way to grow up

Fes, love the write up and it's great to see today's youth thriving in the great outdoors:thumbup:

My son and I fish often and it's truly a highlight for me;)

Thanks for the most beautiful scenery shots I've seen in some time.

Just going through some old photos earlier, came across a pic of me aged 15 with a 1lb roach! :D Sounds ridiculous that you'd even bother taking a pic of that now, but in the 70's the rivers were so polluted here that there were old guys from three camp sites away travelling over just to talk to me about it. I'd post the pic, but my hair is over my collar :D

Fes, I always enjoys those pix of yours and that country. My wife and I talked about seeing that country one day. By the way I thought all you had were brown trout in that country. Nice to see that good rainbow
