Chasing Grails

You know - I'm not sure if a grail knife exists for me. There have been plenty that I've loved, even a few that I've received and thought, "yeah, man, this is IT!" only to reflect later that they were pretty close to everything I wanted, but just not quite. A grail for me would take elements of about 5 different knives that I've owned, I think. Maybe commissionable as a custom.

We'll see what happens with the upcoming GEC 77s. I can already feel myself wishing that GEC would use some CPM-154 already, and full-height hollow grind their blades.

The chase is truly half the fun. I've chased and caught a couple long time hunted pieces that I considered "grails"

First, a Ken Erickson Serpentine Jack in CPMD2.
Second, a 3.5" modified blade shadow stockman in CPM154

For myself though I have to "realistically chase grails". Some I've chased and found out where they are but the owners can't let them go ;)
Can't blame them to be honest, I wouldn't either :D
