Every time I go to the BladeForums.com chat room there is nobody there but me.

What is the best pacific n.w. time to find someone else there? So far I have tried about 6 times with the same results

Just came from chat and there WAS 1 there for a few minutes. My time here was 1445. Guess I will just keep trying.

You also have to make sure you are JOINING the right Chat room, I've created my own Bladeforums chat before and thought it was the right one....so becareful

OK, I am on mIRC32 and connecterd to server Random US DALnet server. So, what else do I have to do to talk to the CORRECT #BladeForums.com chat???

I'm there almost every night. People start rolling in at 8-9pm est and stay there long after the west coast people get tired, but you do need to be on newnet. Try irc.keytech.com that always works for me.

I use the Lunatic# to sign on. Keep trying different combos of #bladeforums.com(which works for me)
I had trouble finding it to but sooner or later you will get it.

I was making the same mistake, I wasn't using "newnet". Several nights (EST) I went in and saw no one but when I changed my mirc selection BOOM, got right in and joined the fun.

A few important points:

This is IRC: Internet Relay Chat. You need a program like mIRC (free from BFC) or IRCle (for macs).

You MUST use a NEWNET server. Any will do.

The default port for all servers is 6667.

First you sign on to the newnet server, then you JOIN the chat channel:

#bladeforums.com

If you are NOT on a newnet server, or do not join the channel listed above (type it carefully), the server will create a New room just for you. This is very lonely.

By 9PM EST, there are usually at least ten and as many as 20 knifeknuts hanging out on NewNet chat channel #bladeforums.com

Oh, if you Do manage to find us, please speak up quickly and let us know who you are. If we do not recognize you as a knifeknut, and you don't speak up, you will get Das Boot (you will be unmercifully thrown out of the room by one of our bloodthirsty powermongers)

If you are trying to use a screen name that is already owned by someone else (anywhere in the newnet network), the robot program ChanServ will demand you enter a password to identify yourself. If this name is not yours, you will obviously not know the password. Simply change your screen name (NICK) to something else (eg. NICK to NICK1234), or ChanServ will boot you.

Good luck. It sounds more complicated that it really is. If it is after 9 PM EST, and you find yourself alone, you did something wrong. Try again.
 
I have been using the wrong server! Thanks to all for you help.

With that said, Para is actually the person that showed me how to get on Chat with IRCLE, of course it took me two days to figure out what the heck he was talking about. Unless of course you want to pay for the Para to English Dictionary.

I made it!!!

OK. I guess you downloaded the SW and you are trying to connect. Click the mIRC icon and you should get this screen:

Fill it up with info about yourself, select IRC Server NEWNET and click "Connect to IRC Server"

You should get this screen:

View


If there is #bladeforums.com (third from top on my picture) select it and click JOIN. If #bladeforums.com is not on the list you have to ADD it. Just write the #bladeforums.com into the first little window on top and click ADD button next to it. Then select it and you are there.

Let me get this straight, if I don't speak up, I get a boat. What type of boat. Are we talking about a conoe or a chriscraft?
Why do I want to speak up. again.
