Chavez skill clip. I figured out a fix.

I love this protech/chavez rendition. But their skull clip and being so tight is not very cool. I couldn’t figure out a way to bend it without breaking it. Obviously don’t want to stick a screwdriver in there. I figured out one of my little panel popping tools from back in the day when I worked on cars might work. And it did. Literally took about 30 seconds to push this thing in a few times and got it set where I can actually use the clip.

Honestly, I had swore off Chavez because of the skull clip. Looks super cool, not very usable. Until now.

I may of bent it a tad to much. YMMV. I’m just glad I can put it in my cargo shorts pocket and carry it.

THANK YOU! I have a couple of these with the same issue. Made me so angry I just put both of ‘em up in a display case yesterday. (All the while cursing those #@$& clips.) I stole your idea, took a shoe horn, and gently “worked” one of the clips…..all the while checking so I wouldn’t overdo it. And it worked! Would have never thought of trying it for fear of breaking the clip w/o your seeing your post. It’s like getting a new (usable) knife all over again. Much appreciated sir!

You could use a fine file or diamond stone to take a little off of the "nub". Safer than bending, IMO. Just go slow and check often.
