Is there any info out there on the "CHE" (or is it "Che" ?). I see it as a pre-order on many web sellers, but nothing on the Boker USA website. It looks interesting, and looks to be very strong.

Thanks In Advance,

Mark

What kind of lock does this knife use does anyone know of a youtube link that shows it in use. I will not purchase a knife that is so vague as to it's construction the advertisements tell me next to nothing. It looks interesting and I like the idea of a safety but what is a plate lock and why do some dealers post it as a having a liner locking mechanism? What makes this knife revolutionary ???

Any close up pictures of this knife (boker Che) from all angles especially the lock.

Thank you very much I am a bit upset that Boker did not give me quick reply or include more detail in their advertisement.

Upon seeing that video I now really want one even if the one I get opens with the thumb studs only. I would have been able to purchase one before but now I am short on funds and high on bills.

That is the type of construction that I like and I don't know why Boker chose to be so vague about it. I even saw it advertised as a "liner locking mechanism" on one web site which didn't quite seem right to me.

This knife is expensive but it is unique enough as well as top quality to justify it's expense in my opinion after seeing the vid.

If there was more candor on the part of Boker's presentation of this it would have been purchased by me months ago. A couple of side profile pictures and a vague commentary is not enough to get me to spend that kind of money.

If they had any stores in my area that sold them I would have inspected one and payed the extra brick and mortar store price.

Unfortunately as far as my local stores go cheap garbage is the rule and they refuse to stock quality. I bet the reasons for this is a whole other story and some of the blame may go to manufacturers (minimum purchase amounts) as well as buyers (idiotic cheapskates.)

I just hope it's still around when I have the funds. If it is I will get one.

My small relation with Boker is sort of love hate. Their original designs are beautiful and practical but the way they do things sometimes sends me running up the walls. This is not unique to Boker either. Benchmades refusal to ship out omega springs is one example (they make you send the whole knife in.)

So let me do some advertising as one of the rare few witnesses to a video of this knife I would say the Che looks like one top quality, strong, and very functional work of art. I want to buy one so badly.

Gentleman,
I just returned from SHOT show. so please take my excuse!

Any more question, that need to be answered?

Also, you can contact me at: marketing(at)boker.de

We are no longer carrying them here in the U.S, so what is available
out there is it. We have a few left in stock in the warehouse.

We are no longer carrying them here in the U.S,

Why is this?

It seems the knife is fairly new production. Has their been no demand for it or some other factor?

I will have to ask. Decisions on discontinuing items are made above my pay grade, so I don't really know. I never did receive any in the repair shop, so there were no mechanical issues, as far as that goes.

I think knifecenter still has the N690BO version in stock one was ordered yesterday.

I like the looks of that damascus model too.

I think the damascus is just a LE version, and the N690BO is the standard. My Titan Defender has the N690BO steel and it takes a wicked razor edge and holds it about as long as 154CM. I like the stuff!

When you say "one was ordered yesterday" were you talking about you ordering it? If so I want to hear how it goes!!:D

It went bad.

I am going to get in touch with the dealer and see if it can be made right.

The safety does not hold the blade closed but does allow the the blade to open 2/3 of the way, the action is very stiff, and lockup is not tight as there is slight blade play in the lock. If the action were smooth it would rattle.

Despite the above I can see this would be a beautiful fantastic knife if everything worked like it should. The action may or may not be repairable but I am not even going to try.

I can see there is not enough material in the blade tang to keep it closed with the safety engaged. The safety does however keep the lock from being disengaged when the blade is locked open.

That is not good enough since this knife is supposed to lock the blade in the closed position as well when the safety is engaged rather than allow it to open 2/3 of the way unlocked (like having the worlds loosest slip joint partially open)

I am a little surprised since I have yet to hear a complaint about this model I expected a lot more than this.

The knife will remain as is and returned. Unless it is replaced by another one made right and worthy of it's price tag I will also choose a refund.

Sorry
