Cheap and Different EDC?

If you're looking for something pretty different from the Cryo, the Meadowlark may fit the bill well. It doesn't have a deep carry clip, but it seems to meet your other criteria. If you're wiling to stretch your budget a bit, the Delica is the same size as the Meadowlark, uses a higher-end blade steel, and has an overall more refined feel to it. As for the differences to the Cryo... Shorter blade (~2.4" vs. ~2.75"), different grind (FFG leaf-shape blade vs. hollow ground drop-point blade), different opening (manual, thumb hole vs. assisted flipper & thumb stud), different lock (back lock vs. frame lock), different handle materials (FRN vs. steel), and very different ergos (large thumb ramp, different handle shapes, the choil for choking up on the blade on the Meadowlark, etc.).

Just to be different and not say Tenacious again... how about a purebred Chinese toy: Sanrenmu and Enlan make great knives, Ganzo is decent too and I love the look and feel of my Tekut (even if it's made of reject cans).

+1
Chinese knives are a cheap, fast way to try out locks, grips, materials, etc. That's how it all started for me!

Variey is the spice of life.

PS: I also love my Tekut! Similar to the OMUDA brand.

And HARNDS is a nice brand too...try it out!

And I find Ganzos (some of them) better than Enlan, on par with SRM.

Someone recommended the Nura. It's a bit more expensive than all those above, but a nice knife and really cool looking. I dig mine a lot:
