Cheap custom knives?

Wait... let ME know where to send the $40... I want in on this deal. LOL

Seriously, I hope the boy takes him up on the offer. A sweet deal.

Good knives are an investment.

Considering the current rate of inflation at around 13%, buying a knive now with cash will get a better return than the stock exchange or your 401K.

I'm working right now with Cbr900son to design the knife I want.
Im excited to work with him on making his knife and helping him make a knife down the road. Its fun to give back to the youth that are interested in learning and seeing how its done instead of the whole here is $, i own it, the end type attitude a lot posses.

There are plenty of hand made knives to found at Blade in the $100-$150 range. Most are going to be relatively plain working hunters so the question is what exactly are expecting for your $125? Raise that $250-$300 and you can probably find about any design you want from lesser known makers.

tell you what I'm in the process of ordering a motor for my new grinder since my old one died. As soon as i'm up and running again (should be a few weeks) Ill make you one with a sheath for 40$ (cost of materials) under one condition! When I send you the knife i'm gonna send you a piece of 1095 high carbon steel and you make me one in return. You will probably have to use files as most people don't have the equipment to make one. Take as long as you want and ill help you along the way with what I know and there are alot of tutorials out there and I'll pay for handle materials and heat treating and any other cost when it is time. PM me or email me if interested at webishop78@gmail.com if interested and we can talk more.

PS - the reason i'm making this offer is I wanna see youth get involved in knife making and stay out of trouble plus this is the kind of thing we will both remember for the rest of our lives abnd have something to look at remember it by also.

A fantastic offer, and also a really good idea. I love it!

Thank you. I'm just a hobbyist so i can afford to take the time and what not to work with someone like this more readily then the makers who need to focus on bills and what not. NOT that they wouldn't do the same but Id rather those that do this for a living to be able to focus on their business and getting the bills paid ; ) plus those guys do more then enough with all the WIPs they do and info and knowledge they pass on!!!

I used to do something similar... it was my "Modest proposal" I'd make a custom knife in trade for a custom knife... it was for all comers, Noobs to pro's. Gotta say I recieved some great knives in return, many from first timers. I even got an obsidian blade once. I did it primarily to get a first hand look at different folk's style. Some of the new folks managed to turn out some great stuff, mainly because they hadn't had a chance to become "Mainstream" with style.

i would take him up on this if i were you. if i had the option, i would.
oh, and go to the blade show as well. i wish i could go
