Cheap flipper

Go for the Ripple. It's an excellent EDC. I have the cheaper version with 8CR13MOV, ~$32. Actually, it's the second time owning this knife as I gave away the first. I also gifted it to my cousin and he carries it every day and loves it. Great ergonomics, feather light, and a lightning fast flipper. The only drawback is the clip sticks out a little sharp at the end, so stay away from cars. You could grind it down a bit to make it more flush, but I haven't really found the need. Also, there's no option of carry position, the clip is where it is. Fit/finish/quality is impressive at this price level, mine is perfectly centered, came sharp, and has no play. There's also the ACUTO steeled version that's been discontinued that would run you around $70. I have no experience, but from what I've heard the cheaper version is the way to go on this one. Just make sure to get the larger 3 1/8" blade.

The JYD is a killer flipper, but i dont know if its better than the lahar was. Both knives just have a different feel. The jyd snaps up super fast. The Lahar is probably not quite as fast but is in another class for smoothness. Its almost like its assisted by hydraulics. On the other hand, the boker field marshal, which I just picked up, imho, fires better than any of them by a mile. Being the size of a medium school bus, its not for everyone. Im suprised nobody has mentioned the crkt shenanigan or foresight. The foresight i think is the next runner up behind the boker.

Now you need a to/sg2. One of my favorite knives. Russ
