Cheap/Inexpensive knives appreciation thread.

Kershaw Crown:

I have two Crowns. One I tried to stonewash and wasn't happy with the results. The other is stock. Reprofile the edge to 25 degrees or so on a Lanksy and they're sharp as anything else I own. And cheap enough that if I was to lose one I wouldn't cry to much over it.

+1 on the Crown. I picked one up on the Bay for $9.99 shipped a few weeks ago. Nice little knife. Also picked up a used Opinel under $10. Can't go wrong with either.

Kershaw Tension is great for under $20. I liked mine, but I don't carry my cheaper knives as much as I'd like so I gave it to my brothers friend and he absolutely loves it. I know he'll use it like it should be used.

Over $20 but still not super expensive:
You can't beat the Spyderco UKPK, Spyderco Squeak, or Kershaw Blur in my opinion.
They're all great knives and can be had under $40 if you look around.

I appreciate how well made they are and what you get for the price, they make great EDC knives for the average knife user.

UC Blondie model based on Willumsen design. 30 bucks and a helluva a knife for cheap. keepem sharp

It's $10 over your price limit, but I just bought a Spyderco Persistence, and although I don't like Chinese knives, I have to say it is a very nice knife and for the price well worth it. Highly recommend.

I have as much or more fun choosing, buying and using a cheapy knife as I do with the spendy ones.

I picked up the Victorinox Bantam for $12. It is an effortless EDC. Lots of utility in a lightweight package.

I received mine yesterday and slapped it onto the key ring this morning, leaving the Leatherman Sidekick at home.

Being ambitiously lazy I've often researched, at length, my next pocket carry just so I could clip it and flick it. So we'll see how long a nail opening knife endures as an EDC. After all I have to take it out, untangle it from the keys, use two hands to open the blade ......... oh bother [/winniethepooh]

+11 I have an alox bantam that I love. The can opener/cap lifter/firesteel striker/screwdriver/mini prybar/package opener/super awesome multiuse blade is the best implement available on SAKs, imo. I wish the farmer had one.

I also have to show some love for the mercator cat knife (k55k) (not my pic)
