Hi, I'll be visiting Las Vegas for a trade show soon. I don't want to check my bag for the flight, so can anyone recommend a place near the strip when I can pick up a really cheap pocket knife? Something like a small slipjoint or SAK. Thanks.

Ed

Pretty sure there as a Victorinox store in the Aria/City Center Hotel/Casino shops. Not sure if it's still there but it on the strip. Just sought of the Bellagio.

When are you leaving? Can you just mail a knife to yourself at the hotel?

I don't think the Victorinox store at the Shops at Crystals exists anymore. Off the top of my head there's nothing in the Forum Shops at Caesars, or the shops at Venetian / Palazzo.

There's a Dick's Sporting Goods in the Fashion Center Mall (across the street from the Venetian/Palazzo and The Wynn). Although, I have never been in there because every time I'm in LV I have CCW (no firearms signs posted at mall entrances), so I'm not sure if they sell knives (but they probably do).

That's it for the strip, IIRC, unless you want to get an Uber to Bass Pro Shops or Nellis Air Force Base.

There are REI stores in both Las Vegas and Henderson NV near LV. REI carries some SAKs, Gerber, Opinel, Benchmade, Kershaw. Kershaw/Emerson and CRKT.

Thanks, all. Looks like Dick's is pretty convenient. I'm leaving Saturday so mailing something to my hotel isn't realistic, and I think $20 for a SAK classic is probably less hassle anyway.

I believe Las Vegas prohibits concealed knives with blades longer than three inches.
When the wife and I go I take my Cold Steel mini Tuff lite. 2" razor sharp blade and less than $20 shipped.
I tuck it in a pair of socks in my checked bag.

Might want to try some of the pawn shops. Sometimes they might have a decent, inexpensive pocket knife.
I used to live in Vegas. "Inexpensive" is somewhat rare, but "cheap" is fairly common.

Suggestion: only take one roll of coins into the casino. One roll can last a couple minutes to a few hours, depending on your "luck". Remember: "The casino always wins."

Exactly what I carried in Vegas.

Same place wherever you would find them wherever you are from. Just about every hardware store has them.

There is a WalMart Supercenter east of the strip on Tropicana - that is the first place I go so I can get a cooler and supplies for the hotel room. They have the typical selection at the sporting goods counter.

I usually just check a griptilian in my luggage, put it in a roll of socks and you are good to go. I have to have a knife with me.

That is not a bad suggestion since you have to go there to pickup a cooler and stuff anyway

They do "technically" I've waved open my Emerson CQC-10 in front of both Metro and Henderson police officers and neither did anything other than ask the maker. Granted I wasn't doing anything illegal at the time. Also concealed means exactly that concealed. If the knife is clipped in your pocket it is not concealed therefore no problems.

Hahns Surplus might have something and it's a pretty cool store to wander around in. In North Vegas, can't recall the street but it's pretty easy to find.
