Cheap knives on eBay

I was looking around on eBay and I came across some very cheap knives that look very nice tough.
How can these knives be so cheap?
For exemple: [do not post links to live ebay auctions, deal spotting is against the rules.]
I love the way it looks but there has to be something about it that makes it so cheap, right?
Somebody that can tell me anything about cheap eBay knives?

Thanks in advance

I mean they are not going to explode or crumble into dust, but they will not hold an edge, and will break/fall apart easily.

They are cheap because they are...cheap.

Did you notice where they come from? And you are still surprised?

Also, I dont think you can link to a live ebay auction. Might be a good idea to edit that out.

Looks can be deceiving and buyer beware IMHO.

The country of origin might be the clue as to the low cost as well as what Marcinek mentioned in terms of materials.

Good luck.

Live Ebay auction links are not allowed, link removed.
The knives may look pretty, but that is all they will do. The materials are unknown and tou cannot expect any sort of reasonable performance based on the discription. If you want a beautiful knife, get a custom made knife from a maker that has a reputation for quality. If you want a wall hanger that will just look like a knife, then buy what you linked to. No disrespect intended, but the saying about a fool and his money would apply here.

Thanks guys, I didn't see where these knives come from, but I should have.
Also, sorry about the link, I didn't know this wasn't allowed. It's a shame that these knives are being made anyway.

There is nothing really shameful about it...they are just cheap knives, and, just like anything else, you get what you pay for. It's not like its a scam or anything.

Looks aren't everything. Surely you've been taught this! Pricier knives are made with extreme attention to detail and better materials. Don't get me wrong, quality knives exist under $30, but the ones you're looking at are likely cheap knives that're cheaply made. Also, they're likely made in China, where we know working conditions and wages aren't the best. This all contributes to why it's cost effective to sell them for so little.

But in actuality, I don't even think most of them are worth the money.
If you're looking for a cheap quality folder, their are dozens of reputable options. I'd honestly avoid the lousy generic eBay knives. The Sanrenmu 7010 is a phenomenal folder for around $10. Check it out.
