Just thought I'd show a picture of the cheap press I put together this morning. It's just a cheap 25-dollar flea market vise and a couple of 8x12 steel plates.

Knife Knut -- it's just regular ol' sleeping pad cut up. Got it from surplus store. The same one we used call a rubber bi. . . err... lady in the Marines.

Michael, Nice recycling of parts 'n pieces. Howzit workin' for yer sheaths???

FWIW, you can use 3M spray adhesive to fasten your layers of foam sleeping pad together and stick them to the upper & lower plates of your press. IIRC it was Normark who initially posted that tip. (credit where credit is due )

Double-sided sticky tape works nicely too (for those Blue Peter moments... )
