cheap place to buy knives?

You could try google shopping www.google.com/shopping it compares prices from multiple sources.

I just look on knifecenter and the prices are consistently almost half what they sell for over here.

I have found that GPknives is very competitively priced I have bought several knives from them and even with shipping to Canada I still saved a bunch compared to msrp

Exchange.. its good b/c it takes time and effort to find the knife you are looking for, saving you money. The hunt and the reward are then much sweeter.

There is a list of approved vendors around here some place. Here http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/935876-***List-Of-Bladeforums-Dealers***

AG Russell is on there, that's a cool site if you haven't been there before

Knife center is good reference, but man are they expensive. on the up side they have the best service though

Try looking up forty two blades on here, he has a link to his shop in his signature. Very nice guy, and he inspects each piece before he ships them

and yes if you are willing to take the time and wait for the great deals the exchange is a great way to get great knives for a lot less then a retailer.

I usually find the best prices on eBay and Amazon. I love our Bladeforum vendors, and have bought plenty from them, but my money goes where the price is low.

Our forum and eBay. You'll just have to look. The most important part is luck. All depends on how lucky you are at stumbling unto deals.

If you're more interested in getting the cheapest knife for your money, then budk will suit you fine.

Cheap price not quality

You don't seem to understand.

What does cheap price mean to you? I'll guarantee that it means different things to every one of us.

A $400 Randall is "cheap" to me if I dont need to wait 4 years to get it.

A $9 Mora is quite a bargain.

A $20 tanto painted in camo and wrapped in paracord is junk to me.

It would be best to list a knife you're considering purchasing, and then ask for a dealer recommendation. Not every dealer carries every knife model, style, or brand.

Knifeworks is one of my favorite sources that hasn't been mentioned yet.

Without giving any parameters, his post is as useful as a "what is the best knife?" post.

Not really. "Best knife" could meaning anything and is highly subjective. I'm with you on that one. But the best prices on production knives - whether Spydie or Cold Steel or Benchmade or you name it - are generally on eBay and Amazon.
