Cheap, small, EDC for a newbie

These are both great knives but IMHO Tenacious > Rat1. Sanrenmu 763 is only $10 (cheap, small) and I like it. Good Luck!

It arrived with a fenix ld20 and I love it. Best knife I have owned so far. Thanks for all the help!

I would take the RAT from that list, the cryo would be my second choice but it is so heavy for such a small blade. Or like some others say maybe go up to something like a delica if your budget permits.

Opinel #6 is the one for you. Small, cheap and traditional. Learn to appreciate the most basic of knives and then move on from there.

Spyderco Dragonfly 2 for super light and great steel or Cryo. Both are great value small EDC.

Buck vantage with s30v or even the steel that's one grade lower would be a perfect choice. The Spyderco Tenacious is another solid choice.

Sanrenmu or Bee/Enlans: www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/866583-SRM-Bee-Enlan-Navy-and-knives-Fan-post

Sub 20$ with quality similar to 30-40$, the thread has been running for 1.5 years with quite a following. You'd get to try various blade, handle and locking mechanism to find out what you personally like at lower cost. Then you upgrade ;)

I upgraded from this group to Spyderco. Their design is really meant for using/working

Dragonfly!
Spyderco Dragonfly. You can even get the ZDP-189 version for just a few more bucks.

I'd pick a Dragonfly in VG-10 if you can't go for the ZDP.
Either is a great choice!
That's your best bet for the money.
