Cheap spyderco

Anything from the Tenacious line. If you bump it up to 60 you can get a Dragonfly, Endura, or Delica

A simple search on an major retailer would have answered this question faster and more thoroughly.

Check out any of the Byrd series if you're into lock-backs (I don't care for the liner-lock models - if you want a liner-lock, stick with the Tenacious series).

Also available in that price-range at tiny-size is the Ladybug / Manbug.

I'd keep an eye out on the exchange. Occasionally a Delica or Endura will pop up there for around that price.

I'll go against the grain and suggest the Spyderco Cat. I prefer the 440C steel over the value line, and can be found for under $40 new.

thanks i will take into account all of your input most likely i will get the Resilience or something from the tenacious line besides the besides the tenacious because i already have a tenacious and it is still in relatively good condition. or maybe a used endura. thanks

I don't think I've ever noticed the Cat. Looks pretty nice for the price. G-10, 440C, low ride clip... Interesting. Thanks for mentioning it.

I would save a few more bucks and get a delica or endura. Two true values... Russ

Ah yes, gateway Spydercos. Just make a list of the ones you like, list them in order of preference, then note their prices, then just start getting the ones you like best. You will probably feel the value relates well to price.

I recommend a Byrd lockback. If lock strength concerns you, avoid the knives in the Tenacious line.

So why haven't you just exchanged your problematic Tenacious at the vendor you purchased it from. Just explain that you spend a lot of time Spine whacking and you would like them to test it for you. Then you can join all of the thousands of Ten fans.

If it makes you feel better I have one as a car knife and just for you I pulled it out and whacked it a few times on a log, no problemo, no slip, no release. Really, you are having a unique experience.
