Cheap Tachometers

Just saw some cheap non contact tachometers at ebay and I'am considering on getting one. Are they reliable? or should I just save my money and just get a good brand that is 5x to 10x more expensive

I only intend to use it once in a while

I think there units are used for gasoline engines I need a tachometer that I could use to check the RPM of my mill and KMG

a buddy has one that uses a laser thats pretty accurate and wasnt very expensive. i'll find out what model it is if you want.
