Cheap Titanium Framelock???

Ah.. a quick check with google shows that they are indeed framelocks.. oops.. my bad.... mm.. looks like I have to pay more attention to Kershaw...

I second ( or third) the recommendation on the Storm II. It is an excellent, full sized frame lock knife.

You can probaly try one out at Walmart.

I also like the regular SS Leek , it's small but also high quality.

For SS framelocks, also look at:

Buck Mantis or Pilot (Pilot is larger and more likely what you want)
Camillus EDC (if you can find it)
Kershaw JYD (might be a bit small for you, but it's nice)

And though this is a liner lock...

Kershaw JYDII - the size you want and it is a BEEFY liner!!!

BTW, regarding the CRKT My Tighe...does anyone have comments/reviews/impressions of the blade steel? I'm looking at it, but not sure I like the blade steel.

Just get you a Kershaw Groove frame lock and be done with it. Its a knife that will offer everything you will ever hope to find at three times the price, smooth as silk opening and only slightly shorter blade length than you were hoping for. This is a great knife for the money. The stainless steel lock and frame will be stronger, wear better against the blade and not really have any disadvantages to a titanium one.

Also, for the money the JunkYardDog II is a great knife and while technically a liner lock its really beefy, all stainless steel in .070 thickness and offers many of the same features of smoothness and ease of use as the Groove.

I normally don't much like liner locks but this JYDII is something I find myself really liking a lot. I actually prefer it over the Groove and have one of those as well as two of the smaller frame locking JYDs and many others that I've both made myself and bought and believe me for the money these Kershaws set a new standard.

The Buck Mayo North Shore is a similar style to most of the Ti framelocks around, but has Aluminum handles. I think its about $60.

Very affordable ($20 or less) CRKT Drifter:

Nice suggestions.

On the other hand, the thread was started more than 3 years ago and the original poster hasn't been on Bladeforums since then. I have a feeling he already found the knife he wanted. ;)

lol i know this is a zombie thread but NOW there are options under 50$, Boker Subcom Titan and boker anti-mc! And geez looking at this thread makes me wish I could find a CRKT S-2 for around $60.00 :(

Don't get to hung up on titanium or a frame lock. There are lots of great knives that are neither and they hold up just fine.

A.G. Russell Titanium Framelock Spear point folder with a 154CM blade @$99.
A.G. Russell Tactical - ARS-34 blade @$99

I just bought a Kershaw JYD II Ti framelock SG2 blem from Kershawguy for under $100 in the exchange. It is on it's way and I can't wait to see it. Seem like a great deal for a Ti framelock and meets your price range. Good luck!
