Cheap vehicle questions.

... do yourself a favor if someone refuses to give you a carfax on their dime DON'T buy it... !! if they have nothing to hide its no biggie for them.. although carfax has flaws as anything does, its better then nothing....

Carfax is worth about as much as the paper it's printed on.

There are multiple companies that will doctor carfax reports for a dealer. They call up the company, the company runs the carfax, alters it and then sends it to the dealer.:(

Still looking for a Cherokee. Really liked it. Turns out the guy 2 houses down is selling his Xterra. He's a mechanic and has taken amazing care of it, think it's an 03 or 04'. Going to talk with him tomorrow.

wow, didn't know that.. I guess they do that for GOOD business:rolleyes:

man can't really trust anyone anymore.. not to throw a wrench at the xterra but I have a '00 nissan frontier with 109k I've had to replace the timing gears/chain at a tune of $1,300 of course I did it myself for $125.. my wife has an '06 nissan quest and it rattles and has had other minor issues with 70k on it.. after these I will not buy another nissan, although I loved my sentra it never would quit working..

Im in Indiana and I got a 98 toyota t100 with 140k for 5 grand a couple months ago. its a great truck and I get up to 18 mpg on the highway

You can find a lot of good utilitarian vehicles for under $5,000.

I have a 1994 GMC Sonoma 4x4 with the ZR2 off-road package with 192,000 miles on it, and it's a beautiful little truck. It really is excellent off the road and in the wet and snow. It's done everything I've asked for it and at a really low price of entry.

That F150 looks like it will serve you well - enjoy it.

God bless and drive safe.

you can find a good K5 blazer in great shape for 5000 easy!!

There are a ton of old ex-military ones around for cheap, with low miles. They might be hard miles, but they are easy to find. They come with the 6.5L diesel too, which would have plenty of power.

Pretty cool vehicles, but I don't think I'd want to drive one daily.

Grandma's '99 F150 Lariat bought new has 218K..tires, brakes,a battery, maybe 2 and plugs at 100K & 200K. Runs strong

She goes to a lot of garage sales..and let's me tow my boat..IF she isn't garage sale'n.

Not the asking price but when all was said and done I wrote a check for $5300.

I picked the truck apart and whittled him down for quite awhile.:D
