I'm starting this thread for people on a tight budget or just not willing to spend alot on knives. I know there's plenty of people that have some cheap knives that they like as much or almost as much as expensive knives in their collection.
A knife that has really impressed me is the Kershaw Thistle. It has a great shaped blade and almost everything seems pretty good about it besides 8cr steel but you can find them for under $15. It has to be 1 of the best knives you can buy for the price.

Ruike LD31-B is my favorite cheap old school style "Swiss Army" type knife. I have a thread I am about to start about mine.

Okapi Biltong. About the snappiest little sheepsfoot pocket knife you can find for under ten bucks.

Make that “if you can find one”. It appears they have been discontinued. I’m glad I bought a spare.

Someone has that knife on eBay for $14.99 plus $4 shipping.

I don't have any "cheap" knives. I have "inexpensive" knives. (there is a difference)
It is possible to spend hundreds of dollars on a "cheap" knife.

My favorite inexpensive knives are Rough Rider/Rough Ryder, (Taylor/BTI) Schrade/Old Timer/Imperial/Hammer Brand, (SMKW) Marbles, MAM, Opinel, Mora Classic Number 1, the Buck 110 and 110LT, and the Old Hickory and Dexter Russell Green River old fashioned carbon steel fixed blades, like the Buffalo Skinner.

I like Rough Rider/Rough Ryder because I can try out different patterns without bankrupting the bank. The knives are good enough that I don't need to "upgrade" (note quotes) to a "better" (again, note quotes) brand when I find a pattern that I like.
(Why spend $250 to $300 and sometimes considerably more for a used Case or GEC Sunfish/large Elephant Toenail (by whatever name), for example, when the roughly $10 new Rough Rider large Sunfish works just fine, has excellent fit and finish, walk 'n talk, reasonable pulls on both blades, etc.? I don't need to "impress" anyone (and don't have anyone to "impress" anyway) with the brand of my knife.)

As my Great Grandfather used to ask: "Why pay a premium for a name?" (be also said: "You don't have to spend a lot to get a lot.")
