A cheap method (and the one I prefer most) for a shaving sharp edge that will hold up well to lots of use, buy a few sheets of wet/dry sandpaper at 220, 400, 600, and 1500 grit and use either a piece of leather or a mouse pad as the backing and create a convex edge.
I do this with all my knives and find this method of sharpening easy to maintain :thumbup:
