Cheburkov Russian #1 Has Arrived

I’ll get slagged for saying this, but I don’t own a Shirogorov with the action this Cheburkov has. There. I said it.

Interesting. You know, I have a 1965 Mustang, and a relatively modern Mercedes .... the action between my wife's 111 and my Voron is like comparing the steering response of the two cars, IMHO

My Shirogorovs have FANTASTIC action….and they’re not going anywhere.

But this Cheburkov is a level above that. Someone was on their game the day they finished and tuned this one.

The Biryukov’s action is fantastic as well. But with a blade in excess of 4”, drop shut is pretty much a given.

My Mustang and my wife's 111 do too But like I PM'ed you, somehow I feel more what's going on the Voron. Just trying to avoid the term "buttery smooth" because I think it's disgusting

The date stamp on the butt of the blade. The little number (upside down) is 2, which indicates second quarter of 2021. I had to use a loupe to make out the small number. Lol

There is a Mini Russkiy available. M390, 3.15” blade, 7.36” OAL. Just like mine above but a smidge smaller. EDIT: It doesn’t have colored pivot rings, pocket clip, or backspacer.

I just stumbled onto a Mini Russkiy with bronze anno handles and damasteel blade. Good thing it was out of stock or I'd have to hate you.

I’ve spent about 1 1/2 hours with it so far. Fit, finish, action, blade centering are all perfect. It is however lockbar sensitive much like my Shirogorov Hation Zero. Nothing muscle memory won’t cure.

Love the milling in the frame lock flex area. Looks like gills. Beautiful knife.
