check out my BOB, comments welcome

Someone mentioned this a ways back, but I haven't been here in a few days. I think one larger tarp is better than two smaller ones because you can eliminate the ground cloth. In the badlands a year ago my friends and I had a moderately large tarp 8x14 I think. We found that by putting the tarp down, laying out our bags and then folding it up over ourselves and staking the top half back down through the grommets it provided us with both a rain shield and a ground cloth.

I have now made 3 fire kits so I will always have one around. I made a wallet size one not too sophisticated but hey!

plus now on my BOB I attached a decent size fanny pack that will have the crucial stuff. so if per chance got separated, I could at least have some basic survival stuff with me at all times. In there will be a LG. garbage bag.


I think 2 tarps are better cause you there is so much versatility.
for making shelter. I could always sandwich myself to but I can hang one as a shade, if need be or help someone else.

luckily christmas is coming and I could get some extra stuff for this multi-layered BOB.
