Check out my improved Camillus Arclite... (pictures)

Would it be possible to have the original slots of the handle extended through the new material? Or was that not part of the plan? What about recreating slots without actually going through the whole material.

I'm thinking aesthetics from the original look, and improved grip. I know G10 is very grippy stuff if sand blasted, but would the slots improve the grip even more?

D2 Arclite?

Did I miss something? All the web pages I can find say the Arclite is 420HC, even the Camillus site. (Some list the handle as D2, which is hard to figure for a one piece knife, but even those still call the blade 420HC.) Price is generally <$30, and you can find them as cheap as $20.

I do like what you did to it. Now if I can just find that D2 version . . .

Sorry it took so long to reply to your guys emails. Been a busy week at work and writing a 17 page term paper for college.

For those interested me, please email me with the specs u want ie color of material, full length handle or mod to fit in existing sheath, new sheath, etc so I can get supplies while I am at the show this next sunday in tinomium and i can get a price quoted for you. Been a long weekend and comp and email trouble, and I can't remember who I replied to and whose email didnt get sent due to roomie disconnecting phone line while I was on, etc :(

As for the grooves, it prob can be done, i just dont have the machinery for it. a milling machine would work best, but the curves would need a special table or jig for it.

Odulus: The Camillus Arclite D2 was an exclusive offering by AG Russell Knives. Everywhere else, it is 420HC. Unfortunately, I have just been looking at AGR's site and can't find the page, so I can't post a link to it. Not sure if it was limited or they just removed the page until more could be mae available. Email AGR to find out more?

BTW, who in the world lists a 1-piece knife with a different material for the handle? (Could you post a link?) The other question is D-2 will out-perform 420HC as a knife steel, so it should be the other way around with 420HC as the handle, as can be seen in the Camillus EDC anniversary edition where the blade is 154CM and the handle is 420HC.

Iwas going to post the ag russell D2 arclite link but it no longer works.

Folks are going to have to wait for the next batch, 1 guess.

Steelwolf,

Thanks for the info. I later found a thread which mentions the D2 Arclite as AG Russell and assumed it was an exclusive:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=178384

It did boggle my mind that a one piece knife would list different materials for blade and handle, and that what I thought was the superior steel would be the handle. Who would list it this way? Try, for example, our sponsor:

http://www.1sks.com/store/camillus-arclite-info.html

(No disrespect intended, we all make mistakes. :) )

I'll get in touch with AGR and see if any more are coming. Thanks again.
