Just about everyone in my family on my mother's side was a coal miner. Her family is from McAdoo PA so there wasn't much to do back then other then mine. My Grandfather and all my Great-Uncles worked in the mines.

I got the first-aid kit when one of my Great-Uncles died and was going through it the other day. I look at it from time to time to enjoy the age of it and how things have changed. I figured I'd share with you guys.

If anyone has any info on it feel free to fill me in.

Here's some pics

It says Bureau of Mines all over it, inside and out.

Some pretty cool stuff inside - most of which doesn't look to have ever been used. Gauze packages, etc. are unopened.

Here's the book that is in it.

Here's a couple funny looking ones out of the book.

How to treat a burn on the face:

In the words of the picture itself

"How to treat wounds of the crotch" :D

Very cool. I like old FAKs. I have never seen one that complete though! Thanks for sharing!

Looks like thats how sumo wrestlers wrap up too. Thats funny!!

My wife gave me a crazy look when she saw that pic of the "crotch man" up on the screen... :)

Still, its a cool collectors piece. My wife and I are gonna start collecting old FAKs and such, as we are both in the medical field.

My wife is a critical care nurse and she gets a kick out of looking at it also. I wish I was in the medical field, but I'm a desk jockey instead.

Good luck finding some old FAKs.

That is a GREAT find. I can't believe the condition. Thanks for the photos.
