Got a copy of the "Spyderco Story" book this week.
I expected the book to be crammed with details and background behind the various models - and it is.
However what I didn't expect (and the section that floored me) was the company philosophy. I believe that the fruits of this philosophy are what we see in great products and a changed global knife industry and market. This has allowed Spyderco to rise above the typical Corporate American manufacturing company to that of nurturing and creating intellectual property. The output of this intellectual property just happens to be great knives. As knife nuts, we sure owe a lot to Sal, Gail and the company for following this philosophy. Actually the whole knife industry owes a lot to them, cause it seems like everyone is winning right now.
Anyway, sorry to get carried away here, I've just been enlightened is all. That's my book report... check out the book it's worth the read.
