I had not checked out Bill's website for a few weeks. It has been expanded to what looks like double or triple it's former size. Bill now has pictures of different styles not up there before.
Howard's FAQ has become an awesome project. He has captured the essence of what Himalayan Imports is all about. Providing master kamis the opportunity to work up to their abilities, create some of the finest knives in the world, and be paid appropriately, so they can take care of their families.
As a customer of HI, not only do I get the knife as an end product, I learn of a very different culture. What I pay goes to help others earn a more decent living. And in return I get to more fully appreciate how vastly easier my life is than that of most Nepalis.
There are people, not machines, behind these knives, and something of their spirit becomes a part of each of the khukuris they make.
Uncle Bill, Howard, Pala, the stories told make me joyful and make me want to cry. Thank you all.
