I've been working on this piece for many long days and finally finished it up today. This is one that I truly wish I had better photography skills. it would sure be nice if I had a Hoffman,Coop, Slaughter or one of the many great photographers living next door. O well, a poor knifemaker has poor ways. :)

Anyways the OAL - 10 7/8" w/ 5 7/8" blade. The damascus is a mosaic w pattern and handle is Gemsbok horn. The guard and pommel are filed and are made from the same w billet. There are over 190 nickel/silver pins in the handle and sheath. The sheath wood is che chen and the black inlay is gemsbok horn. The throat is also damascus from the same w pattern billet.

Thanks for lookin, I don't mean to brag if it seens like I am, I'm just really proud of the way this one came out.

Beautiful work Bill. I love the repeating pin pattern, and the damascus is wonderful! Very nice!!

Beautiful precise work. Love the repeating pin pattern on the handle
and sheath. The damascus is great too. Before I read your materials
description I thought the gemsbok horn was polished blackwood.

You should be proud of this one.

I'll have to agree with Bruce, you've got a right to brag, beutiful, just beutiful!

You're really advancing with your exotic damascus patterns Bill, looks nice. Sheath too.

Thanks everyone for the great compliments. This one was a bit more nerve racking, seemed like every time I would settle in and get a good start on it, something would call me away. When I finally got the dagger done and started the sheath I was all thumbs, I knew what I wanted to do but the ol hands just wouldn't cooperate, so I walked off and left it. But I couldn't stay away, I had the finished vision in my head and I just needed to see if I could match it. I'm am glad to say, it came out awfully close to my vision, but my head hurts from all the hair I pulled out. :D Man, I love this job. ;)

Thanks again,

Bill

C   L

If I was any closer, Bill....I'd photo it for ya - my pleasure. :D

Beautiful job Bill...as always. I'd offer to try and take a better picture for you but, you may neer get the knife back.
:D ;)

I thank you all so much again, for the great compliments. It sure is a big ego boost to have a piece commented on so highly by you all.

Beautiful dagger and sheath, Bill!
Amazing work!
How did you get the tip so perfect?
I have a dagger blade I ground out 2 or 3 years ago but haven't finished yet and one of the reasons is I know I'm going to mess up the tip.
Since the tip is in the center of the blade and the center of the blade is the thickest part on a double ground blade, how do you get the tip ground down so nice and sharp?
Anything you got to help me will be appreciated!
Take care!
Michael
