I think the leather sheath package is fine and I think the maker might really be onto something here. Is this his first try at knifemaking? If this is his trail balloon, he has done very well, provided all the edges and heat treats etc are well done. It would be nice to hear about his designs and intended uses etc. Why the big secret as to who he is? Price seems right.
 
He has been making knives for a few years, no secret
on who he is, his name is Dwayne Carrillo, he personally
field tests these knives for their intented purposes,
but I am not totally up to speed on that, more info
will be forthcoming.
 
I've had his BlackHawk model for over a year, and from my experiences with it, it is an excellent piece, I take mine wherever I go. The rigging system is very versatile for ways to carry it. I've never had any issues with the finger hole; it seemed to help my grip. The leather works on the sheaths are top notch. I bought mine from him at a gun show in Tulsa, when I was last in Oklahoma.
