Yes, Ducks Unlimited (and DU Canada) was a major customer in the last few decades for Schrade. Their orders were extensive and varied from the inexpensive Irish AP knives, golf tools, and Century knives to some really elaborate customs. I'm doing DU research right now and it won't be completed for some time yet, so I can't give you a whole lot of info on this knife at the moment, but it is a factory knife with one of the three most common lasered cutouts, the other two being the familiar duck head logo and the letters "DU". Schrade began doing more and more laser work after the late nineties, custom box engraving, lasered etches on blades, even a few low volume scrims and serializing. Here is a 15UH pattern I've not yet identified a customer for, and it may indeed be a set-up piece/demo piece made to show DU what the laser cutout/fileback/Staglon knife would look like. DU did pick this style for a Hallmark knife one year.
I believe the Sharpfinger with the "Ducks in FLight" laser is a Federal Duck Stamp issue.
Here is another example of a Schrade with the Duck Head laser cut out & file work. I purchased the blank with cut out & file work already completed. All I did was put on a Bokote wood handle.
