Competitors were given 10 seconds to inspect a hoof and 25 minutes to make a 3/4 fullered heart bar to fit it.

I watched an East Coast farriers competition a few years back. It was amazing to watch them make a shoe from bar stock by eye and have it be a perfect fit.

It is amazing, I dont think these competitors are allowed to actually measure the hoof, it is all done by eye with no "yardstick."

One thing I notice is they all use the exact same hammer, is this provided for competition, or regulated? Or is this just the hammer of choice for farriers?
