Chef Knife and Stand

Here's the (long overdue) stand for the chef knife I recently made. It is made from jarrah burl (Eucalyptus sp.) and blackwood that matched the handle. This is the first knife stand I have made and I kind of played it by ear.

Thank you for the kind words. I wanted something unique that no one else had done before, but it also had to work and be practical. I think I'll file away this design for future use, too.

Here's the knife itself:

I honestly still prefer working with wood than metal. I always feel like I have to fight to make the steel do what I want. I will definitely stick with it though; it's very satisfying to finish (and use) a blade.
