Both are 1095. Chef's knife has desert ironwood + corian. Santoku has stabilized maple + corian.

Just wanted to show off, I guess..... :footinmou

Couldn't have made it without help/support from you guys - thanks!

Looks good Daniel. I really like the black corian for the bolster material. Hope to see you at the blade show. Mike Wilson

Thanks, guys. I'll be at 8-Q. I'll make sure to drop by, Mike.

Very nice, Dan. The hamons are sweeeeeet! I like your handle material combos, as well. Did you use oil for quenchant, or turn up the pucker factor and try brine? Very nice work.

Clint

thanks guys.

Clint - quenched in Brownells Tough Quench at 120 degrees. Takes longer than regular oil, and much longer compared to water. But no ping and doesn't even bend/warp at all.

By the way....finally finished up that damascus bar you sent me. Have a look:

Very lean and sleek fighters, Dan. Also nice clean workmanship. Very impressive. And of course, the damascus looks not bad also! The pine is very unique, with great figuring as well. Hope your having fun this weekend.

Clint

I got to handle these over the weekend, and I was impressed, probably one of the the three top bargains at the show that I saw.

Good work man
