Did ton's of research and want to thank forum members on CCK 1303 recommendations. Cleaver is thiiiiiiiiiiiin, which is what I was looking for. Almost so thin I'm not sure how they get them so thin without ruining the edge, I have a mercer asian cleaver that I thought was thin but compared to the 1303 looks almost twice as thick. Took it to 15 degrees on the work sharp, going to do some light modding, linseed oil on the handle and warm vinegar patina on the blade.
For those considering this knife, handle is unfinished which I view as a plus because it means potential, and there is lacquer or varnish on the blade. I had no acetone so I just whet sanded it off the blade with 500 grit.
I'm not sure if CKTG is a paid sponsor but I've seen them referenced often positively on the forums and I think I've seen representatives respond to posts as well. I'm a believer and very happy with their shipping and customer service.
