I seem to remember someone mentioning a chemical finish for making the edges of Kydex sheaths smooth and glossy. I couldn't find any reference to it on the web though. Does anyone use a chemical, and what is it.
Thanks
Jess

PVC cement will glue it together, the thinner will soften an edge and let you burnish it.

When I tried it,
A traditional buffing wheel and compound worked better at getting a gloss, but then you have to wash all that grit out if the kydex before riveting it.

Sanding and buffing is the norm.

But, a rag with acetone will put a smooth an shiny edge on. Try it on some scarp first.

I normally just sand my sheats to their finished profiles, and then I just run the edges on a buffing wheel for a couple seconds.

Works like a charm.
