Folks will sometimes ask me where I get the wood for my Stabilized handle material; mostly from my firewood pile but sometimes from my neighbor's woodpile. The agreement that I have with him is that for every piece of cherry or maple I take I have to replace it with a piece of white oak completely seasoned and dry. It's always a good swap.
Forged from 52100 high carbon steel
Heat treated in my Evenheat furnace to Rc 58-60 with three normalizing and two tempering cycles creating a fine grain structure throughout the blade
Flat grind with a 400 grit belt finish. the clip is not sharpened
Distal tapered full tang
Professionally stabilized cherry burl handle
9 inches overall length with a 4 1/4 inch blade
Leather scabbard with a belt loop for a right hand carry. Lefties, just let me know and I will make you a scabbard for you "wrong handers". ( a son, a daughter in law and several grandkids that way so I know the frustrations sometimes)
