Burl hunting appears to be pretty good. Nice one Gerry. The $65.00 knife I traded from you is on my belt almost daily.

I've always been a fan of knives that are of a simple design and have clean lines. This one really shows those qualities. Looks like a great design and would be quite comfortable in the hand under any kind of use the owner would tempt it with. Well done!

Gerry, What do you do to seal the burls when you find them? How much do you trim them down? How long do you season them? Thanks, Larry

This burl was in my shop for about a year in full size. After I felt it was cured I cut it to scale sizes and sent it to WSSI in Iowa for professional stabilizing. They really pump the wood full of their medium. Don't really know what it is but it makes the wood very hard and stable. I have used this stabilized wood myself on kitchen knives that I have had for years. It stands up wonderfully to soap and water and the abuse the my wife and I give to it.

Another beautiful knife, Gerry. This one looks like it has a solid heft.

Haven't seen you on BF for a while. Enjoying retirement too much or taking too many knife orders?

A little of both. I had to ride my bike on the tail of the dragon this week (kind of a let down, I thought a lot of the mountain roads I traveled to get there were just as much fun) and I have to get all my orders out before I leave for Alaska for 6 weeks.

Thanks for the compliments everyone!
