So Last Tuesday I ordered an izula from ridge knife shop and here i am almost a week later and the only email i have from them says my order has 'processed.' I sent them an email a few days ago asking them what the holdup was, but yet no return email. My credit card has not even been charged yet after a week!

Can someone please tell me what is going on? I am kind of mad about the whole thing and i hope to get it straitened out soon!

The earliest they would have received them was Friday...and if it was a late delivery, they might not have even been able to ship out until today.

I know the other thread said they were shipped to them, and I know they are a good shop. I would say you are fine. They are likely just covered up with Christmas stuff. I know we were.

hey man take a deep breath and chill....you are so close to the reason for the season day that all the last minuteers are busting the asses of the retailers and E-tailers so bad that sitting for them is tuff.

and have you seen any of the PO's....its like a huge box storage unit with a bunch people going "oh shit" it will come just relax.

Tom @ Chestnut Ridge is good people and the shop itself is great to deal with. I'm sure things are going forward with your order.

I placed my order on 12/10 via the web site and I believe that I was the very first order placed to Chestnut Ridge for the RAT Izula; I ordered 2 complete kits - 1 black and 1 tan. Yesterday, Monday late morning, I received an e-mail from them stating that my order had shipped. I am hoping for delivery on Wednesday but it might be Friday.

Keep in mind that Jeff posted on this forum that RAT has a small issue with their shipments to their dealers and distributors resulting in the number of Tan knives sent to dealers being less than the dealers were told to expect. Jeff / RAT took responsibility for this issue. Please search for Jeff's post as I do not wish to misstate anything.

This is my 3rd or 4th order from Tom at Chestnut Ridge and I have purchased from him at 2 gun shows. My experiences have all been very positive. Ordering last week MAY have been a little late to get one of this first shipment of the Izula's. I would imaging (but am not 100% sure) that your credit card will not actually be charged until your order ships. I am sure that you will be receiving an update soon.

Hang in there and Merry Christmas to you all!

Well, i just hope to get this cleared up soon. I thought i would have one for the x-mas holiday, nut i guess not yet. It will be here eventually i hope. :(

I have been to the post office about six times in the last 14 days and only on one day did they have two cashiers in there! It was totally insane the way they are treating their employees. This is not a rural post office. On Saturday morning, I was 8th in line and when I left, there were 17 people in total to be waited on with one lonely and incredibly frustrated cashier to deal with a bunch of irate people who were blaming her because they're boneheads.

And, yeah, the boxes were stacked up about six feet high and about fifteen feet wide, it's a madhouse at the post office. I can't remember a mad rush like this in the last eight years or so.

Yeah, everybody's backed up. I ordered some stuff 2 weeks ago from a retailer that usually has stuff in my hands in no more than 4 days, hadn't gotten it yet as of this morning.

No biggie, I don't have kids, and don't celebrate Christmas, other than to enjoy my days off.

Never heard anything but good things about CRKS, I'm sure it's due to the late delivery to them of the knives and the Christmas rush. I know it's frustrating to be waiting on something by a certain date, though. That's the downside to this time of year.

Tom is a great guy to deal with, just give him a call on the phone and he'll answer any question you have about your order.

No offense, because you are right easy fix...But this is why some people order online to avoid such calls.
Not speaking of the company mentioned but I think if you have the time to talk about it over the phone I bet you could hit reply and type something out.
It is a form of customer service and some sites excel while some still lag behind. In this competitive marketplace it could be the difference in whether a customer returns to buy next time.

And OP I think you jumped the gun on this thread.

Tom is a great guy to deal with, there was a post here a while back about the demand for these blades being way underestimated. I would cut him a bit of slack, I have spoken with Tom several times and he is a great guy. I ordered from him and the knife was shipped the very next day, this tells me he obviously didn't have them in stock yet. Patience my friend ;)

I ordered one of the OD Izulas from Chestnut Ridge. I knew that they wouldn't be in for a bit, but I wanted to get in on the (then) current price and shipping promo. After the automated emails, Tom actually sent me an email to reassure me that my card wouldn't be charged until it shipped and also that he would be manually applying the shipping promo. While I presumed both of those when I ordered, I think the fact that he took the time to send out that email was a true touch of class!:)

I believe right now, only the black and tan Izulas have actually been released, so depending on what color you ordered, that may be part of the delay.

No attack on the original poster but I find this thread distasteful at best.

I know it is stated that an e-mail was sent but no reply but I still feel like it is jumping the gun on this a bit.

I understand the frustration certainly and this isn't meant to be an attack on the poster.

I think there are other ways to handle this situation that are more appropriate than blindsiding a vendor in public forum before the person has ever been contacted directly. E-mail is only one route, especially given this time of year.

I hope you get your knife but I don't agree with this posting.

Now now guys. I'm not saying that I agree with this dude in ANY way. All I'm saying is that I can see where he's coming from. Everyone is, while doing it in a very "no-disrespect" kind of way, bashing him.

Let's look at this objectively. Homeboy placed an order that he though would be quick. He's been waiting a long time. He sent an email. No reply. So he came in here to try to settle it and let us know his experience.

Now an important thing to keep in mind here is that he might not know as much about these fine people as we do and he doesn't have the same friend relationship with them as many of us do, so to him, this is just a store that didn't reply to his email about a shipment taking a long time and he got worried and it has caused him a bad experience.

I personally have never seen him post in here, so i would assume, he might not keep up with all of this as much as we do and he doesn't know everyone. Also, he probably doesn't follow every single thread concerning timelines like we do. As far as he knew, they were available and should have shipped the second he made the order.

If it was me and I placd an order, it didn't ship soon, I emailed the person, and got no reply, then I would be in here doing the exact same thing.

While, to us, this seemed in poor taste and hasty, to hhim and anyone else not as "in the know" as us, this is definitely the way to go.

I'm not trying to stir anything, so don't take this post that way. I just like everyone to be happy, and I felt like, given the circumstances and the level of his involvement in this forum, he did the right thing. As long as he posts the outcome and how things turn out now that he knows what is up, he will still be doing the right thing. Otherwise, WE'LL BURN HIM AT THE STAKE! YAY!!!!

Happy Xmas everyone.

I think everyone can understand rugershooter's frustration, and I don't blame him for being frustrated. But I have also found that sometimes things happen with no ill intent. There is no doubt in my mind that rugershooter is a first class individual and simply wants to know what happened. I also know that Tom is as good as they come also, so I don't think anyone related to this thread deserves to get beat up on. I will just about bet that somewhere there is a missing link to why all of this confusion happened, and that none of us know what that missing link is yet. ;)

Happy Xmas everyone.

I see exactly what you're saying and did when I made my post as well.

I absolutely hope that rugershooter16 gets his anticipated knife and I don't think anyone is questioning his character.

Tom and his shop seem like great people from what I've seen him do and post.

I think Jeff was right that there's a breakdown in communication somewhere and it resulted in some frustration.

I think the majority of us just feel that this isn't the wasn't the best way to handle this.

No attacks, no hard feelings. We just all appreciate and want our RAT Cutlery knives as quick as we can get them.

Happy Holidays to all.

The mailman just left and I left a nice USPS box Tom @ Chestnut Ridge in my mail pile. I was allowed to open it before Santa confiscated the new black and tan Izulas. The look nice I just wish I could open mine and play with it. I'll have to wait.

My order shipped on Monday via USPS. I live in PA possibly the mal was a little quicker. I am sure that the other early orders should be arriving today or Friday.

Thank you Tom (Chestnut Ridge) and Jeff / Mike.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Got my black izula for my brother (I already have my tan kit) today from crks. Thanks Tom, you're top knotch in my book!

Yes, i can see how some of you think I am bashing Ridge knife shop, but in all honesty, I am just trying to see if anyone else had the same problem as me. I was also trying to contact Tom here on the forums, knowing he stops by frequently.

I did send out another email probably about a week ago now, but still no reply. I am wondering now if the order was not canceled in some way, seeing as I ordered it like two weeks ago, or whenever they were ready to ship.

P.S. I ordered a black Izula, so yes I know it is available.

At this stage, I would think there may be some type of a problem since you have not heard back from Tom. Have you tried calling him? I would make a phone call to the shop and ask what's up. Please keep us posted on the outcome.
