Dad is mourning the loss of a couple of awesome Slipjoints he got from Chicago Cutlery years ago..just goes on and on concerning how excellent the steel was in them.
Anybody know where I could find him one or two, or if not, Does anyone have experience with them that could make a like recommendation?

Thanks for your help.

I can't say I can be of much help, but others will chime in and give you great advices.
Meanwhile, it would be good if you tried to found out with your dad what kind of slipjoints he used to have...at least what patterns. That would help alot. Good luck for your search!

If you do a 'completed listings' search on the 'bay (that certain 'auction site' ;)), you can look at quite a few of the Chicago Cutlery folders there. I'm looking at a list of them now, found with this search string (including the quotes):

"chicago cutlery" folding knife
