Anyone have a good source for these?
I am just getting a supplies list together to get into Kydex. Always been a leather man, but after testing out a Kydex sheath on one of my field knives for over a year, I can see it has its place.
I would like to expand my sheathmaking skills into this arena.
Looks like most of the stuff I need/want I can get at KnifeKits.com, but I don't really like their style of Chicago screws. I have seen a style that had philips heads on them, and would prefer those to the standard slotted style. A Allen or Torx head would be ideal, but doubt anyone makes those, as I have never seen them on any sheaths.
Stainless and/or aluminum would be fine, with black oxide coating.
Any other pointers would be great as well. I have read quite a bit about Kydex here and there, but would still value any last minute suggestions.
I plan to start out with 0.08 thickness and 8-8 size rivets. For now I plan to use my leather tool rivet setter to set the rivets, but plan to get those nice rivet dies that KKC sells later, for my arbor press.
Thanks, and happy holidays to you all,
Brome
