I believe that balisong (bali-song, with the dash, is a registered trademark), means broken horn.
 
No...Balisong...does not mean "Butterfly" in Tagalog. Chuck has great reference material on this Hoplofile.., and so do other sites....

I also don't speak Tagalog..., so don't take my word for it!
