My 6 yr. old son and I have been doing a little traditional archery shooting here lately. We have really been having a lot of fun. Apparently my 3 yr. old daughter has been watching. Well she started hounding me for her own bow. But any old bow just wouldn't work.
I found a thick piece of hickory board that was plain cut. I have never made a bow of any kind before (outside of the stuff we all did as kids) so this was an experiment of sorts.
I laid it all out and came up with what I thought was a pretty good looking bow. Not good enough. It wasn't pink. Off to town to find pink woodstain. That was no easy task but I think I did okay.
Her pink "girls knife" is in the picture with her "girls bow". It may not be long before she is hitting the woods with us.
