I been a little wound up lately, with work, family, BK10 release, its been busy. So, I took a little time today for me and LadyMoose, and headed south, on an invitation from E, to hang at his place for the day. Here we go.
The big oak that fell at the Gathering Site.
Big ass tree, look at that stump ball
The View. I been hearing about this since E started his "roost" project. Gonna be great place to watch the sunset. SW'ern exposure, and a helluva good shot.
The fellas that I took to play with. Also, a good size comparison chart. Some of you may own one of these blades, so, its a good indicator for size of the others, if you been wondering.
My BK5, its gonna get some good use over the next couple of weeks, I gotta plan. Biscuits gonna help.
Oh Noz, tehz rust, watz will i dooooooo
Seriously, rust. Deal with it.
The edge is pretty keen still, no rust on it

I wanted to do some carving and play with my two new Bushcrafters, my FBF, and my Blind Horse Knives Bushcrafter. Ya'll can read about the FBF in Andy's forum. Since BHK doesn' have a forum here, and I know we Beckerheads seem to have a few of them, here we go again.
LadyMoose, getting her carve on with her new Navy MKI. She loves it, by the way.
My BHK and a future spoon. Keep your eye on the knot.
Some angle battoning. Man, this a great knife.
After I cut out my basic shape, I started making my shape, then, something weird happened. I got cut. Now, I've been cut many times before, you play with knives, you get cut, thems the rules. But, I'm usually pretty good with a blade,
, so, here's the part that threw me off. It was the spine that cut me. Cut me good too. Look at the blade, only place with blood on it, is the spine.
Yup, I was doing a chest lever cut, with thumb assist (those that know me personally, its the cut I use the most) to shape the fork. Damn spine was sharp enought to put a smooth, deep cut, right across my thumb. Now, LT and the BHK guys, make those edges SHARP for a reason, and I don't blame this knife one bit, or the design. Its made that way, and I knew it when I bought it. Gonna have to fix that, PDQ. I didn't realize how sharp it was. Good job LT, damn good job.
So, gotta patch this up. Can't have blood on your forks.
To the bottle kit!!!
Read it. Love it. Buy at New Graham's, you get free bandaids.
After I gots me a bandaid, gotta finish the fork. Getting there
Moose Tracks
Done. MoosezFork.
Left it as a gift for Ethan and Susan, in the Roost.
All in all, I unwound today. I feel like a ball of yarn, whats been unballed.
Time in the woods, my Lady, some whittling and view, that would make your eyes sting. Great day.
