china Knives CH3504

Just a short update. I was able to get rid of the up and down play. The lock was not engaging properly as the lock insert was not fitted flush with the titanium lock bar. A little filing of the excess titanium sorted out the problem and the lock up is very good now.

However my grievances remain unchanged about Chinese quality control or the lack of it.

All's well that ends well.

This is however the first time I heard that there was a problem with a lockup on a CH knife.
Maybe you got a lemon or sold a factory second (blem).
That is why I usually buy from trusted sellers.

I myself have not bought a CH knife and I did have 1 unpleasant experience with Aliexpress. It was not a knife but a pair of sunglasses. It took a while to adjust them and they were still crap. If you ever want to order a cheapie there are U.S. resellers that sell them on the secondary market. Just make sure the have a return policy.

Many YouTube personalities are paid shills for the products they discuss. There was a flashlight that a ring of "reviewers" were all praising and it was junk. The usb battery overheated and wouldn't hold a charge. The led failed after a new trustworthy battery was used. It seems the harder advertisers push, the bigger piece of junk the product is. You know, quality sells itself. No advertising needed. Too bad you learned a hard way. Thanks for the warning though.

Most (popular) YouTube reviewers get free stuff to review.
If they will give bad reviews - they probably won't get any in the future (at least that's how they think).
Some seem to stay honest despite that fact and those advanced bros are truly gems to the community.
(You know who I'm talking about :D).

You are right. Those reviewers who are merely shills, promoting sites that sell junk, clones, and outright counterfeits, really only drive new folks away from knives, and provide a tremendous disservice to, to what to many of us is a passionate hobby, and to many others of us is their livelihood and puts food on their table for their families. (You know who I'm talking about :D).

It is a shame that they feel shilling is worth turning off their audience. I like seeing the product used, in hand, from every angle, close up before I buy. YouTube is GREAT for that and I appreciate the service. Trade offs.

Yeah that luvthemknives guy is definitely on the top of the heap when it comes to pushing the clones and copies. I cant listen to that frogmouth for more than a few minutes anyway.I just hate to think how many people he is steering into buying these clones copies and fakes.
Totally agree frogmouthed...

Ricks xm s have that one too and no problem as you know

We do know? And what does that have to do with the topic of this thread? Or are you talking about the Hinderer "tributes" that are sold on some of the sites promoted by the shills?

How about showing us some evidence of what you are saying is true?
