Excuse me for picking at this scab, but for anyone worried about the quality of China made Bucks:

Boeing (BA) CEO Jim McNerney is eager to move the company to China. Whether moving Boeing to China means shifting its headquarters from Chicago to Beijing is up in the air. But Boeing already has $600 million in supplier partnerships with China -- such as a deal with Shenyang Aircraft Corporation to build an assembly for the 787's vertical fin. And Stan Sorscher, who spent 20 years at Boeing before taking a post at the Society of Professional Engineers in Aerospace (SPEEA) in 2000, told me that McNerney is hooked on the idea of shifting Boeing to China.

I gotta think this is mostly about posturing for negotiations. Still, it is food for thought.

News I really didn't need to know.....are there plans to have Wally World in the Distribution network? I can avoid Chinese knives but will be hard to avoid Chinese planes. No wonder unemployment is so high....everything is made somewhere else.

At least if a backspring on my Chinese Buck breaks, I don't plummet 40,000 feet...........

:D

I had not heard that. Interesting thought that it is a negotiation ploy. Have to check into the story

the future of commercial space travel will depend on how much cheaper the Chinese can make rockets.

Maybe they will have you cut your in-flight snack(stray cat chow mein) with at 373 Stockman.

Sorry for the bad taste chinese food joke-couldnt stop myself

In flight snack trays???? What airline do you fly? I'm lucky if I get an extra bag of peanuts!

I heard this on the radio last night. IIRC the Chinese agreed to buy a certain amount of new Boeing planes, if they relocated a portion of the company to China and provided a certain amount of new jobs...:mad::mad:

33873, can I infer from this that there are now a bunch of Chinese walking around with 110's dangling from their belts?

Ah don't worry, just keep in mind, that of the 100,000 moving parts in a giant aircraft, each and every one was made by the lowest bidder................

In my opinion, us Chinese people can make quality products just like any other people. However, because we have really shitty worker laws, other countries like USA take advantage of them and pay extremely crappy. Therefore, not only are they not giving a good incentive for people to work, but also the production takes a lot of shortcuts and bad materials just to be able to make a profit. "You get what you pay for" sums it up.

Why not move this to the Political forums. What does it have to do with Buck knives? I'm sitting here in the US of A, and I would bet just about everything in this room is made in china or taiwan, except the wood furniture
