If we are sitting in a board room discussing our product, Why should we even enter into the "Cheap - "Low End Market?"
Do we want to establish a reputation as a leader among cheap knives?
Do we want to compete and have our produck compared with the low end others Junk ?
Lets kick up our proven winners the 110s and 112s for example, offering different handle material and blade choices. When you think of Buck, you think of Quality, Backed by the best warranty in the industry! The "Caddilac of Knives" Lets Continue to produce a good old American roads hog and leave the Yogos for The offshore folks.
At Least lets not try to devieve customers by calling a Yogo a Minnicaddy.
There are a lot better motorcycles on the Road than Harley Davidson, But Harley carved thier market to those who "Will only have a Harley" And Harly does not compete with a low end product. Harley Davidson has established itself as an American Icon And Buck Knives is in the position to grab a piece of the ol american pie.(But they first need to spit out the rice) Caddilacs, Harleys and Quality Knives are not cheap but there are enough loyal customers to keep them in business and turning a handsome proffit.
Porky
