Chinese copy of what knife

I went to Mexico and bought an inexpensive liner lock folder, which has a unique
feature - a button that is pressed to release the liner lock, just as one would
depress the liner itself on a normal liner lock.
The handle has rubber inserts, and the blade is partially serrated, with a spear point.

Since is a Chinese knife, I suspect that there is an "original" somewhere... :-)

Anyone knows of what brand of knife that the knife can be copy of?

The handle is black aluminium, by the way...

Best regards,

My knives!

Yeah, I know the knife. I was the one responsible for it being in Mexico. I never thought anyone would find it and bring it back...
What you have is the last known prototype of the Chang/Gerbil 'Eternal Slumber Shobu,' commonly referred to as the 'Nosferatu Model.'
The year was 1981. Every media rag on the planet heralded news of a tainted blood supply. Vampire Gergil, in an effort to marshall his dwindling strength, was spending more and more time 'under the lid.' His enemies could almost taste victory.
About this time, Comrade Chang, made his third illegal attempt to enter the country. Intercepted by a rival Tong, Chang was forced to make crock sticks from the broken shards returned to the Pottery Barn. With blood, spittle and Chung King streaming from his lips, Chang escaped and went underground. Traveling by night, he soon took refuge at the 'Knights of Taiwan Masoleum, Brothel and Muffler Emporium.' Soon he was under the Gerbil's spell!
The Gerbil needed an easy-to-open tactical knife in case he was waylayed in his coffin. Assuming a mortal blow would be struck, Chang added the lever to release the lock. The rubber inserts steadied his ever sweating grip. The handle is not parkerized, rather the metal is anodized from the many tracks of his tears of bondage.
I found Chang a shattered hulk working in a tofu taco stand just outside El Paso. Since I was on my yearly 'Sipping Mescal Excursion,' I agreed to smuggle Chang in one of the wheel wells of my F-150 as we transported the acursed knife to Chiapas.
And now you've brought it BACK...--OKG

Too many knockoffs too little time....

Could be a knockoff of the Boker top lock, or the United Cutlery UC-286 Mechanic's Liner Lock.

ROFL! The knife reminds me of the Changmade model 770! See that little thing in the front-center of the handle is the liner lock release! Those Red Chinese copied my design!

OKG, that is pretty clever, but I am afraid you are confused. I was only stopped from illegally entering this country twice. The first time I was stopped was in 1969. This was during the conflict in Vietnam and I made the mistake of putting a bush on my head and introducing myself as Charlie.

The second time, the Tong family betrayed me and tipped off the border patrol because I owed some gambling debts. I did in fact make sharpeners after my detainment.

The Knights of the Taiwan Masoleum part was unfortunately a myth, though it is quite amusing. I actually took refuge in the NRA building Fairfax, VA (thus becoming one of the first NRA members of my particular shade of yellow skin). To this day, I am still an NRA member.

I was only kidnapped by the Gerbil after his servant Lorena Bobbitsky seduced me. The rest of the story is completely accurate.

Well, Chang, do you blame me for getting so much of it wrong? You were making so much noise whining in that wheel well, bemoaning your fate, that I blocked out most of the hyperbole. Now, what happens if the Gerbil wants his knife back?--OKG

Sounds like something I saw in a Bud-K catalog. Looks kinda like a S&W SWAT, or a Top Lock. No real maker that I know of has a push-buton release on a liner lock. The Top lock is (I believe) a 'plunger' lock, like an auto. The Boker Top Lock is essentialy an auto without a spring.

I have a TopLock, and it is basically an auto without the spring.
The button on the Chinese knife releases the liner lock, unlike the TopLock.

The quest continues...

"Comrade Chang", are the images intentionally blurred ...?

A.G.Russell's "City Knife" originally (c.1990) closed by a button. U.S. Customs gave them grief until they redesigned it without the button.

This is an equally blurred picture of the knife in question:

Wow, its just what we needed; yet another way to accidentally disengage a liner lock.

Handles look like that of a Colt AR-15K. As to the blade, hmmm.. looks like a S&W SWAT blade? lol...

I give up.
