Chinese knife restriction? Closed factories?

Things are picking up mwhich50 slowly but surely. You can only supress a tiger so long before it has to eat.

Don't believe everything you read, it's really not..... And won't for a very long time....Unless something MAJOR happens to change it...... ;)

Less that 40% of the people in the US work.....

Out of that 40% or so only maybe half of them actually pay taxes...

Until that changes dramatically things will NOT get better......

In the arena that I live in if it wasn't for the Medical Field and the Colleges the whole thing would collapse and be just as bad/depressed as the outlying areas.... Crazy high unemployment rates and welfare percentages......

The State has driven almost all of the industry out.......

Tar Heel, NC..... Out in the middle of nowhere..... Look it up....... Nearest City is 52 Miles away...... Over an hour drive......

Has the largest meat packing plant in the US, Smithfield....... 80% of the workers are illegals and the town is so depressed it's pathetic......

And yes those are facts...... And yes Immigration knows about it.... And so does the State Government, and the Federal Government..........

The problem with China is that they HAVE TO GROW rapidly and it can not be sustained. They are facing some major problems which will have worldwide impact. Japan was THE place to manufacture things in the 60's and 70's. Then it was Taiwan and South Korea. Toss in Mexico and the Phillipines into the mix. Things change over time and yes, the companies are moving production to places that have less expensive labor rates than the US. It is all a big circle and eventually it will stabilize.

Years ago I spent a lot of time in Arkansas. I observed a huge airport being constructed in what I considered the middle of nowhere. It didn't make any sense to me at first. It was all about Walmart and Tyson and import/export. Planes transport chicken to Japan, China, and so forth and bring back manufactured goods to the US that is distributed by Walmart and similar retailers. Like 18 wheelers, they are hauling both ways....

I used to turn up my nose at any knife manufactured in China. Now I actually look at them and try to form a more informed opinion of the ones that I am interested in. Chinese knife quality has improved substantially.

Lately I have bought some better quality fixed blades from China to try out.
Quality is very good, better than some western brands
These knives are in the 150$ price range what means I also get them at my doorstep for 150$
All my other knives have shipping costs, import taxes and administration costs added to the knife price.

I have about 5 Chinese fixed blades and about 300 western brand and custom knives, so for me this is only for trying some of their knives.
Lately I found out some sellers now refuse to send some knives that where purchased and give a refund, other knives got seized by their customs.
The controls on knives in China certainly got much stricter.

Strange they seize knives going to other continents because of a mass stabbing with kitchen knives.
I fail to see how these measurements regarding their export could have an effect on these domestic incidents.
